No-Bean Low Carb Chili

A cold winter day calls for a nice warm bowl of chili. This low carb chili is packed with flavor made with ground beef, chopped tomatoes, peppers, and spices.

No-Bean Low Carb Chili
(Note: these measurements are approximate, so adjust seasonings to your taste)
Ingredients:
1.5 to 2 pounds ground beef 1 medium onion, chopped 4 cloves garlic minced 1 jalapeño pepper, chopped 2 tablespoons chili powder 2 teaspoons cumin 2 teaspoons dried oregano
14.5 ounces diced tomatoes
4.5 oz can chopped green chilis
1 heaping tablespoon tomato paste (optional)
14.5 ounces beef broth
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
salt & pepper to taste
Optional Toppings:
sour cream
sliced black olives
sliced jalapeño peppers
sliced green onions
shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
1. In a large stockpot brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess grease if needed.
2. Add in onion, garlic, jalapeno peppers. Cook until onions are almost soft.
3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. mix well
4. Add beef broth, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and green chilis. Heat to boiling, reduce heat to simmer, and cook. Stirring occasionally, for 1 hour
Serve with optional toppings.
